  TESTIMONIALS
"...This is an excellent program. I'm so glad that I stumbled on to this when researching for task management programs. Very low learning curv, quite flexible, and the price is right. Tried at least 20 other programs, either too complicated, too expensive, or poor documentation..."

  1. Planning for a Safe Boat Trip.
    • Choose a Trip Itinerary. Where are you going to go? You need to plan an itinerary for your trip in advance. It is recommended to make a to-do list and specify tasks necessary for planning your trip itinerary. You can use Google Maps Service to plan the best route for your boat journey.
    • Select a Team. You need to assemble a group of people who will share your journey. The best way is to go to local boat service organizations and hire a team of professionals. Also you will need to hire a skilled skipper. Make sure you skipper has a certificate which proves his/her competencies and skills.
    • Assign an Assistant Skipper. For safety of your team it is important to have more than one person on board familiar with all rules and aspects. Make sure at least two persons (skipper and assistant) in the team are aware of requirements and know well how to use devices and equipment. Then in case your skipper gets injured his/her assistant can rule the boat, lead the team and get everyone back to shore.
    • Make a Briefing Before Departure. It is important to organize a briefing and give necessary instructions before departure. Usually this job is assigned to a competent skipper assistant. This person should provide a plan and instruct you and your team.
    • Check Equipment. Before your departure you should make sure there is a minimum amount of marine safety equipment aboard. Check the following equipment items:
      • Backfire Flame Arrestor (BFA).
      • Personal Watercraft (PWC) and accessories, including navigation lights, sound-signaling device, watertight flashlight, magnetic compass.
      • Personal Floatation Device (PFD) – lifejackets.
      • Fire extinguisher.
      • Boat safety kit.
      • Owner\'s/ship\'s documents.
      • "Throwable" floatation devices, including a life buoy, horseshoe and a flotation cushion with two straps.
      • Proper ventilation systems.
      • Boat navigation lights, including starboard light, port light, masthead light, stern light, steaming light, anchor light.
      • Develop a Float Plan. If you are going to take a safe boat trip you must make a float plan before your departure and then share this document with your family members, friends or/and local safety team. Typically a float plan includes information on where a person is going to go to and when. Include the next information on your floating plan:
        • Your full name
        • Address and phone number
        • Names of your parents/husband/wife/friends
        • Names of other passengers onboard
        • Boat type and ownership information
        • Trip itinerary
        • Available means of communication and equipment
  2. Boat Safety Tips.
    • Learn to swim. Knowing how to swim is one of the critical requirements. You can improve your swimming skill by attending special classes provided by training organizations in your place.
    • Take a course. No matter whether you are a beginner or an experienced trainer it is required to take regular (once a year) courses on boating and be familiar with rules.
    • Learn to use lifejackets. Be sure you know how to use a lifejacket. It is recommended to take a quick course on how to wear lifejackets.
    • Check weather. Use TV and radio forecasts to know if weather conditions are favorable for safe boating. If you notice darkening clouds, rough changing winds or sudden drops in temperature, it is strongly recommended to get off the water.
    • Avoid drinking alcohol. Numerous studies have shown that the likelihood of being involved in a boating accident gets doubled when alcohol is involved, so never drink alcohol before your departure and during the trip.
    • Never take a boat trip alone! If you are alone onboard, nobody will help you in case of emergency, so be sure at least one skilled and experienced assistant will share the journey with you.
    • Always use your template. It is recommended to use a complete and useful template to plan your next boat trips in the future. For example, you can use the given ...
